Rain

Today is raining. And it's weird and beautiful. This really hard rain would fall for a couple of seconds and then nothing; just the wind blowing raindrops off the trees. Half an hour passes and another heavy rain is falling for a very short time. Meanwhile, the sky is unreal. I've mentioned already that to me, the sky in Israel seems much closer. So when I'm looking at it now, it still feels the same. But now, I get to see all the different colors of clouds: white, grey, black, yellowish. And those clouds are... don't even know how to describe this... fluffy. So yeah, weird. And beautiful.
It's been a while since my last entry. Nothing much has happened since then. It's just been work at the kibbutz. Before returning to the kibbutz I did go to the beach between Naharia and Rosh haNikra. It's a state park and has some remains of both old Roman baths, and Turkish buildings. The water is beautiful and clear. Unfortunately I remembered that I don't like swimming. And don't know how. Too bad I remembered that after I got in the water...
Also, last week was Sukkot. The last day of the holiday I was at Ein Hashofet. It was a Friday night and there was a party after the dinner. There was music under the open sky, friendly conversations and cake. By the way, before I forget, Shabbat at kibbutz is special in the way that everyone eats together in the dining room on the tableclothes covered tables. Anyway, back to the party; I guess this is what reminds me of being in Israel, the strange little things I've only imagined. It is really cool to hear the israeli songs with countless stars above you and majestic trees around. Especially if those songs remind you of something. Like one by Chava Alberstein who will always remain in my memories because I went to her concert with my parents not long before I left. Or Shotei Hanevuah, whom I saw in Madison, WI exactly a year ago with friends. Overall, it was a really special night. And I have finally really understood this question: "I wonder if you're looking at the same stars right now?"

  • In theory if you can see ‘The Big Dipper' (Big Bear) we're looking on the same stars. Just time is opposite. And really the skies are closer to you than to us. But do we have the same feeling when we're looking on stars? Can we still be excited from stars and skies? Are we looking on the same stars? If you understood this question do you have an answer? Share with me.

  • U mentioned Madison.... I will be there today becasue its 410am already and for some reason i'm not sleeping (been sick all day so i slept my share for the day). Anyways I'm goin to Madison but not for the Israeli conference, but to take my Pharmacy entrence exam PCAT on staraday morning. I spoke to "alkagolik" and will probably meet up with him, i will be the for 2 days untill satarday night, maybe sunday morning, depeneds if anything "fun" happens. And u know how crazy and spontaneous things can get there. It will be weird to roam the streets of Madison without you achi though!!! Write more often, and dont forget the Hebrew lessons!!!!
